Buiding Our Future
Calhoun Liberty Hospital is building a new, state-of-the-art facility to provide expanded healthcare options and create new jobs for Calhoun, Liberty, and parts of Gulf and Jackson counties. This multi-million-dollar project is one of the largest economic investments in the region’s history. The current facility on NE Burns Avenue, damaged during Hurricane Michael, cannot be rebuilt to current codes, necessitating the new hospital at 16257 State Road 71 in Blountstown. The project is funded through significant federal and state support, including $11M from FEMA, $18.7M from HUD, $1M from the Florida Department of Health, and $4M in state appropriations.
