New Leadership Team at the Helm of CLH

There are several new faces at the helm of Calhoun Liberty Hospital (CLH). J.C. Miller assumed the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in January, and Yarah Dieppa-Corbin, RN joined the CLH team in February as Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). After joining CLH in March as interim Chief Administrative Officer, Emily Brown, MSN was named Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in May. Christinia Jepsen continues to oversee the construction of the new 50,000 square foot hospital as Chief Project Management Officer (CPMO). This new dynamic team has established a path to excellence and is working together to reach internal and external goals for CLH.

EMILY BROWN
A native of Liberty County, Fla., Brown most recently served as administrator of Tallahassee Memorial Home Health Care where she oversaw operations, human resources, budgets and revenue growth. During her time there, she exceeded organizational goals, achieved 5-star patient satisfaction and substantial revenue growth. Brown prides herself on a strategic approach to administration as she is proficient in business management, sales, marketing and budgeting, which ensures a holistic approach to healthcare administration. She also has extensive experience in maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and standards. Her focus is on building relationships with medical staff, as well as volume and service growth for the facility, colleague engagement and culture, leadership development and overall quality, safety and compliance.

She will be a key stakeholder in advancing care in Calhoun, Liberty and surrounding counties and building strategic partnerships to further advance healthcare locally.”

J.C. MILLER

J.C. Miller joined Alliant Management Services in January to serve as CFO for CLH as well as Doctors’ Memorial Hospital in Perry. Both facilities are under contract with Alliant Management Services for administrative operations.

Prior to joining Alliant, Miller served as CFO and Senior Vice President of Finance and Operations for the Florida Hospital Association (FHA). At FHA, he oversaw the direction and management of the hospital finance, accounting, data analytics, emergency management, and operations teams. He was also responsible for all oversight, management, and financial reporting of the $10 million budget.

Miller has also worked with the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) as Acting Deputy Secretary of Finance and Operations and Chief Strategic Officer where he led agency staff in efforts to meet Governor’s Office initiatives and strategic plan objectives and was responsible for the Agency’s $30.4 billion budget. He oversaw procurement and contracting functions for Medicaid health plans, large-scale IT projects and other health-related services totaling $19 billion annually. 

“I am enjoying working with these rural hospitals that are anchors for the communities they serve,” said Miller. “My mission is to lead efforts towards long-term financial sustainability, growth, and expansion.”

YARAH DIEPPA-CORBIN

Yarah Dieppa-Corbin joined the CLH team in February and brought extensive experience from her more than 25-year nursing career. For the past seven years Dieppa-Corbin served as senior care manager for Magellan Complete Care of Florida. At Magellan she was responsible for level of care services related to mental health and substance abuse treatment to ensure medical necessity and effectiveness, as well as quality clinical reviews and coordination with community partners.

Dieppa-Corbin also worked with Northwest Florida Community Hospital in Chipley, Fla. for several years, working her way up from a medical-surgical nurse to director of the special care unit (SCU).  She went on to work with Gentiva Health Services as a case manager and later interim manager of clinical practice. Early in her career she worked at Veterans Hospital in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Northside Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fla. and Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Ala., as well as time as a travel nurse.

Dieppa-Corbin earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Inter-American University, Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico and a Master of Nursing from Kaplan University, Davenport, Iowa. Dieppa-Corbin is fluent in English and Spanish.

CHRISTINA JEPSEN

Jepsen, former CEO of Calhoun Liberty Hospital for four years, has transitioned to project management and will continue to focus on the nearly $40 million construction of the new state-of-the-art 50,000 square foot hospital. Jepsen has been the point person for the project since planning began shortly after Hurricane Michael damaged the current facility and reduced capacity and operations in 2018. 

The Calhoun Liberty Hospital Association, Inc. (CLHA) contracts with Alliant Management Services for and has a formal partnership with Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare (TMH).
